According to eschoolnews, ePals, Inc. have made agreements with laptop distributors and the National Geographic Society to make their suite of web applications such as SchoolMail and SchoolBlog available to students of Intel's Classmate and OLPC's XO.
ePals provides a safe environment for teachers and students to collaborate. Students will be able to email, blog, interact with foreign students and learn foreign-languages. On the Classmate, an ePals icon will be placed on the desktop to launch. Curiously, the ePals website makes no mention of the OLPC in their press release. The application is web-based, so any laptop with a web-browser and Internet access will be able to use the application.
