The Design Museum in London, Britain currently has a Brit Insurance Designs of the Year exhibition. The exhibition showcases 100 designs nominated by curators, designers and critics. The 100 designs are broken into seven categories: architecture, fashion, furniture, graphics, interactive, product and transport. The best of each category will be awarded category winner and is eligible for the overall Brit Insurance Design Award. Competition is fierce. On March 11, the category winners were announced. In the product category, the One Laptop Per Child was announced the winner. The OLPC laptop was designed by Yves Béhar of Fuseproject. On March 18, the final winner will be announced.

- Interactive: Burble London, design by Haque Design + Research Ltd, with Seth Garlock and Rolf Pixley
- Product: One Laptop Per Child, design by Yves Béhar of Fuseproject, for OLPC & Quanta Computer Inc.
- Transport: Mex-x, wheelchair for children by Meyra- Ortopedia Vertriebsgesellschaft mbH
